Four students finding their destinies…
Spellslingers Academy of Magic by Annabel Chase is the story of four friends determined to make their magical mark on the world. The first three books are mostly about Bryn, who suddenly finds herself the member of a magical school rather than all alone in the world.
Books four, five and six largely follow Dani, an overachieving witch trying to please her family, her school and pretty much everyone but herself. Books seven and eight are about Cerys, who is coming to terms with an abduction and working to trust the world again. Books nine and ten follow Mia, the oftentimes overlooked air witch, who must decide if she’s ready to take her place with her friends and really be seen.
Along the way each of the girls finds love. I really enjoyed the different guys they ended up with and how they are so diverse and yet perfect for their respective witches. This is a supernatural adventure first and a romance second. All of the stories end happily, which I love. And along the way, more questions get answered.
I ended up reading this series in sections but if you stop after one of the girl’s stories you will likely be left with a few questions. By book ten you have satisfying endings to not only the girl’s adventures and romances, but to a number of the supporting character’s tales as well. This was a fun and delightful read and I hope you enjoy it as I did!
The stories of Bryn, Dani, Cerys and Mia…
For years, Bryn has lived by one simple rule: no magic. Staying hidden in the human world is the only way to protect herself from her ruthless sorcerer father. But when she breaks her rule to save an innocent family, everything changes. Instead of being exposed, she finds herself whisked away to a hidden academy of magic—a place she never knew existed. The problem? Her magic is raw and untamed, and she has no clue what she’s doing.
At first, life at Spellslingers Academy is all about learning spells, adjusting to a new wardrobe, and navigating an unfamiliar world. But when Bryn is caught in a restricted area with a dead body, proving her innocence becomes a race against time. With the help of newfound friends—and a dangerously charming vampire named Gray—she must uncover the truth before she loses everything.
While a talented student at Spellslingers, Dani struggles to shed the stigma attached to her family’s past. Her grandmother’s addiction to magic tarnished their name, but when her loving grandma makes a final request, Dani can’t refuse. What starts as a simple favor turns into a perilous mission with an alluring druid by her side. As they search for a missing professor, they uncover a far darker threat—one that could change everything.
Cerys has survived a nightmare and now is determined to prove herself as an Enforcer of the East, pushing her abilities to their limits. But a weekend field trip takes a deadly turn when she stumbles upon a massacre. Now trapped with a frustratingly handsome werewolf named Callan, she must work alongside the League of Local Paranormals to bring a killer to justice before more lives are lost. Yet, the deeper she digs, the more her past threatens to unravel everything she’s built.
As Mia enters her fourth and final year, her talent for staying in the shadows earns her a coveted spot with the Agency of Magical Forces. But when vampires begin dying under mysterious circumstances, she’s thrust into a deadly investigation. With a mysterious supernatural ally at her side, she must stop the deadly plague before it spreads beyond control. If she fails, the fate of the magical world—and her own place in it—hangs in the balance.
All four girls must rely on their growing magic, their friendships and the strength within if they are to conquer the darkness and advance to become Wardens and graduates of Spellslingers Academy of Magic.

What I love about Spellslingers Academy of Magic by Annabel Chase:
Like all her work, Spellslingers by Annabel Chase is very well written. The characters are interesting and multi-dimensional. I love that we really get to know each of these girls and see their individual triumphs and challenges. I also love that each story has a romance and plenty of adventure.
What I didn’t love about it:
This is quite a long series so I broke it up into several books by reading one or two of the girl’s stories at a time. I can’t really think of anything I didn’t enjoy.
Spice level:
This series is mild. There are four romances taking place in the series, so a good amount of romance- but nothing graphic at all. The romance takes a backseat to the girl’s adventures.
Language:
The language is fairly tame. There are some mild swear words throughout the series. The language is always appropriate to the character and scene.
Violence:
This series is medium in terms of violence. In particular, in the first and second stories, one of the girls is abducted by a demon to be an unwilling bride and later has flashbacks and trauma. There is lots of supernatural fighting and killing, which tends to make for a good adventure. The violence was never too much for me but neither is it strictly tame.
Length:
This series has 10 books. They are short, around 200 pages each.
