Three sisters stepping into their lives…

Hex Support is a short and sweet trilogy by Annabel Chase. It’s a spin-off of the cozy mystery series, The Federal Bureau of Magic, and features three witch sisters. While this series has some hints at romance, it is definitely a cozy mystery first and foremost.

Each book follows one of the sisters as she works to solve a case for Hex Support, a division of The Bureau, and ends up finding more of herself in the process. Annabel Chase is a talented author and this series is well-written like all her others. The characters are interesting and have insecurities and struggles to overcome. I enjoyed watching them interact with their deceased ancestors whose spirits are housed in family portraits.

I also particularly enjoyed watching each of the sisters grow and become a better and stronger version of themselves. From Kit, who is stepping into the empty nester phase of life, to Grace, who is trading her carefree youth for the empowerment of adulthood, I loved their stories! This is a fun and cozy series that will leave a smile on your face.

Some are born into greatness…

The Fairfield sisters aren’t just witches—they’re a legacy. Each with her own unique magic, they’ve spent years tending to Dark Hollow, their enchanted family estate, and the sanctuary of forgotten familiars within it. But when duty calls, these witches must rise to the challenge… or risk letting killers go free.

Kit Fairfield had left her days as a Hex Support agent behind, trading high-stakes investigations for the quiet life of a widow raising twins. But with her children off at college, she’s pulled back into the supernatural underworld when a prominent socialite is murdered in Savannah. Reluctantly, Kit dusts off her badge and heads south—where she quickly finds herself entangled with cryptic suspects, a case brimming with dark magic, and a dangerously intriguing vampire named Palmer. As old skills resurface, Kit must decide: return to the safety of Dark Hollow, or remind the world why a Fairfield witch should never be underestimated?

Elizabeth Fairfield has spent her life as a book witch, steeped in lore and tasked with tending Dark Hollow’s mystical library. But when a psychic is found dead in Salem, Elizabeth is called upon to put her knowledge to the test. The case is more than she bargained for, but at least there’s one bright spot—Nathan, a devastatingly handsome werewolf with both brains and brawn. Just as sparks fly, the evidence takes a grim turn… pointing straight to him. Will Elizabeth clear his name and prove herself worthy of the Fairfield legacy, or is her first taste of independence about to end in disaster?

Grace Fairfield is the rebel of the family—clever, unpredictable, and always walking the line between mischief and brilliance. So when she’s assigned a murder case at a haunted amusement park, she jumps at the chance. If she can solve the crime by Halloween, she might just save the park from shutting down. There’s just one problem—Luke Brookstone, her ex-flame and former college coworker, is back in the picture. Worse, he’s human and blissfully unaware of the magical world. Grace knows she should keep her distance, but when has she ever followed the rules? With time running out and the stakes climbing higher, she’ll have to decide: give in to her fears, or prove once and for all that she’s a Fairfield witch through and through?

Mystery, magic, and a dash of romance intertwine in this spellbinding trilogy, where each sister must uncover the truth, embrace her power, and step fully into the legacy that is the Fairfield name.

Hex Support by Annabel Chase

What I love about the Hex Support series by Annabel Chase:

This series is well-written and short, which I tend to appreciate. I love the sisters and their bond with their family, both living and deceased. I love how individual they each are and that they grow stronger through the series.

What I didn’t love about it:

I would love to have had a little more romance for the sisters.

Spice level:

This series is very mild. The focus is definitely on solving mysteries and the sister’s family connections.

Language:

The language is very tame. There may be a couple of mild swear words throughout the series- I would have to go back and reread to be certain but definitely mild language.

Violence:

This series is mild in terms of violence. This is a cozy mystery so there is murder and the solving of it, but the violence is not graphic.

Length:

This series has 3 books. They are short, around 200 pages each.
