Grab your favorite blanket and cozy up…

This series is the epitome of a cozy mystery. It’s a fun and easy read with memorable characters and at ten books plus a spinoff series, you won’t run out of good material.

Annabel Chase is just a darn good writer. The plot in each book flows well from beginning to end and each book fits seamlessly into the overarching story of the series. Her main characters are well written and have depth. Her supporting characters are quirky and interesting and you also get to know them well enough to be invested in their outcome.

Another thing this author does well is to tie up the sub-plots. I hate learning all about a side character only to be left hanging when they are no longer pertinent to the main character. Give me a good story that lets me know the sidekicks have a happy ending too!

The premise of this story is that a young woman who doesn’t know she’s a witch by blood gets stuck in a cursed town that keeps all its magical population from leaving. It’s a fun and fantastical take on finding your true purpose by mistake!

Emma Hart is in for a surprise!

Emma Hart doesn’t believe in magic or anything that can’t be proven in a court of law. As a public interest lawyer drowning in student debt, Emma is used to life throwing her curveballs.

But nothing could prepare her for getting lost in the remote Pocono Mountains and stumbling into Spellbound, a hidden town where supernatural beings are trapped under an ancient curse. To make matters worse, Emma discovers she’s not just trapped alongside the residents—she’s also a witch.

Thrown into a whirlwind of magical mayhem, Emma has her hands full. The town’s public defender has been murdered, a goblin needs her legal help, and she’s stuck in remedial witchcraft classes to unlock powers she didn’t know she had.

Add in one hotter-than-sin angel she can’t stop dreaming of, and you have Emma’s suddenly new life. On top of that, as the only new resident in town, she’s caught the eye of a dangerously attractive vampire, a powerful minotaur and the ire of half the single ladies.

When a pixie dies under suspicious circumstances, Emma’s to-do list spirals out of control. Can she untangle the secrets of Spellbound and break the town’s curse before she becomes the next victim? Full of humor, mystery, and magical mishaps, Emma’s journey is one you won’t want to miss.

Paranormal Cozy Mystery series by Annabel Chase

What I love about the Spellbound Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series by Annabel Chase:

This is a fun and cozy read with mystery and romance. I love the main characters, Emma and Daniel- and all the quirky supporting characters that give depth and humor to the story.

What I didn’t love about it:

The only thing I can think of comes down to personal preference- I have a shorter attention span so by the 10th book I found my focus wandering.

Spice level:

This series is mild. There is a fair amount of romance but no explicit scenes are described. You are aware of physical relationships taking place but only in a general sense.

Language:

The language is mild. Throughout the entire series I don’t recall any swear words.

Violence:

This story is mild in terms of violence. I found nothing objectionable in this series.

Length:

This is a longer series than I usually read as I tend to get bored. There are ten books in this series, however each book is about 200 pages, in fact several are less than that. So this is a long series but it’s still a pretty quick read.

Where to get the Spellbound Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series by Annabel Chase:
