A spicy series full of danger and magic…
The husband and wife writing team, Ilona Andrews, brings a great story to life! This series is an exciting take on a world of magic, politics and what lengths you would go to for the ones you love. I completely enjoy how Nevada’s humble life contrasts with Connor’s privileged world and yet, Nevada is surely the happier of the two.
I also love that Nevada’s world mirrors ours. For instance, while the law is there to keep all people safe, in reality there are prejudices and political pressure that keep the law from operating as intended. Companies play games and manipulate in order to turn a larger profit- as even the magical need an income!
In this world, Nevada and her family are just trying to keep their business afloat. Connor Rogan is just trying to appease his family and see justice met. This is so similar to the pressures and stressors that we experience. I love this series because while we are reading about overpowered magical humans- they’re feelings are so relatable.
These six books are basically two separate series combined. The first three are the story of Nevada and Connor. The second three books are the story of Nevada’s sister Catalina and her love interest, Allisandro. I have only read the first three books in the series as it got a little too spicy for me.

What I love about the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews:
This series is well written and thought out, without plot holes or tons of unnecessary description. The characters are interesting and have depth. I really like the supporting characters- they make the story come to life. For the record, my favorite is Grandma Frida! The ending is satisfying without being super obvious.
What I didn’t love about it:
To be honest, I didn’t realize this series was spicy. By the time the main characters develop a physical romance I was too far into the story and had to know what happened! It’s possible to skip steamy scenes without missing the plotline but I wish I hadn’t needed to.
Spice level:
This series is definitely spicy. If you prefer a steamier romance you’ll enjoy these books.
Language:
The language is mild to moderate. Throughout the series there are occasional swear words. I would have to reread the series to be sure but I don’t believe there are any F-bombs.
Violence:
This series is medium in terms of violence. It’s not completely tame but neither does it keep me up at night. If you’ve read any of my other reviews you’ll know I’m a violence wimp so other readers might find it milder than I do.
Length:
There are six books in this series. These novels are medium length, around 300 to 400 pages each.
